Filet Mignon Cooking Methods

Grilling

Grilling is a classic method for cooking Filet Mignon. The direct heat of the grill creates a sear on the outside of the filet and the inside will remain juicy and tender. Grilling will infuse your Filet Mignon with a smoky flavor that enhances its natural taste.

Grilling Instructions

  • Bring filets to room temperature for about 30 minutes
  • Preheat your grill to a surface temperature of 450 degrees
  • Season both sides of your filet with salt and pepper
  • Grill your filets for about 4-5 minutes on each side or until you reach your desired temperature.
  • Let filets rest for about 10-15 minutes.
  • Spread your Legal Sea Foods Garlic Butter on top and enjoy!

Cast Iron Skillet

Cast iron pans are known for distributing heat evenly, making them a great choice for cooking filets. A cast iron pan will allow for an exceptional sear on the Filet Mignon and the even heat distribution will ensure the filets are cooked evenly through.

Cooking Instructions

  • Bring filet to room temperature for about 30 minutes
  • Season both sides of your filet with salt and pepper
  • Preheat your skillet to medium-high heat
  • Add oil to your cast iron skillet and sear your filet for about 3-4 minutes on each side.
  • Let the filets rest for about 10-15 minutes.
  • Spread your Legal Sea Foods Garlic Butter on top and enjoy!
